???? Chapter Four ????

????Nadia’s POV????

Lewis frowned. “Dakota?”

“Yes, now can we go, please?” Christian held out a hand to me.
Eager to make an escape before Lewis could blow my cover, I took his outstretched hand. Christian made sure to get me away from his brother as quickly as possible and onto the dance floor.

“What is with you tonight?” Christian asked as we swayed to the music.

“Nothing.” I muttered. I realized that I was supposed to be turning him off so I added. “This is what I’m like, don’t like it? Oh well.”

Christian shook his head. “I may not know you all that well yet but I can tell this is an act. The question is, why are you acting like this?”

“Maybe I’m just not attracted to you and you won’t take the hint.” I said.

Christian scoffed. “That’s funny. No, you are a mystery Dakota and I can’t wait to figure you out.”

I gulped and kept my mouth shut for the rest of the night.

????????????????????????????????????

Thankfully the night ended without another sighting of Lewis Taylor. This was good for me seeing as he knew my real name and had witnessed Christian calling me Dakota. That was drama that I knew I would have to deal with in the future, but not tonight.

It was close to midnight when Christian walked me back Dakota’s suite. We were relatively quiet for the rest of the event after our last conversation.

“Goodbye Dakota.” Christian told me as he leaned against the door of the suite. He tucked a fly away hair behind my ear.

“Night Christian.” I took out Dakota’s suite key. I was sliding it into the door when Christian’s hand caught my wrist. I had to stop myself from physically shivering from the tingles that one act shot through my body.

“I want to see you Dakota.”

“I’m right here.” I joked.

I knew full well what Christian meant but decided that playing dumb was the smartest way to go.

Christian deadpanned. “I’m being serious. I want to date you.”

So much for my genius plan.

I sighed. “We’re not going to work out.”

Christian rolled his eyes. “I know that we didn’t get along at first but I see potential between us. I’ve never-“

“I have a boyfriend!” I blurted out, cutting Christian off.

All of the emotion fell off of Christian’s face. His eyes narrowed. “I don’t believe you.”

“Well you should…because he’s real.” I muttered half heartedly .

“Then why did you go out with me tonight?” Christian asked, a smile beginning to tug on his lips. He thought that he had me, but I had an answer prepared.

“It was a pity date. I didn’t want your father to get mad at you so I agreed to go with you.”

Christian’s face turned stoic again. “A pity date?”

I nodded my head. “I have no feelings for you whatsoever.” Christian stood there shocked, taking in the serious look on my face.

“Then I guess I won’t bother you anymore.” Christian finally said before turning his back on me and walking swiftly to the elevators.

I felt bad about treating him so badly but I didn’t have a choice. I had to stop this Dakota masquerade for once and for all. I opened the door to Dakota’s suite and walked into her massive bedroom. As I looked at the fluffy California
king bed dominating the room I decided that it wouldn’t hurt to spend one night in luxury before giving it all up.

Then my phone started ringing, it was Brianna

Oh.. I forgot to thank her…… I quickly picked it up

“Hey bri., I am sorry for not….

“It’s okay Nadia, I am really really grateful for letting me represent you” she said and I was confused

“Err.. What do you mean??

“I finally got employed as a maid in the hotel, I am super excited… Just today and I got employed today ” she said while screaming and believe me I still don’t understand

“Bri.. What exactly do you mean?? Cos I don’t understand

“Nadia, I quit my job to work in the hotel and I was asked to start work tomorrow”

“What?? I exclaimed “bri.. Are you out of your mind?? You’ve been working in the restaurant for so long that I can’t even remember and you’re loved by the customer, you’re always paid at the end of the month and you quit just like that??

“C’mon, I need a change of job and I have always wish to work in a hotel ”

“Bri.. We both know you’re lying cos I know how much you hate working in an hotel ”

“Both I think I am gonna love it now, I quit my job this night and I also got another job this night.. Isn’t it wonderful, I was asked to start tomorrow.. We will get to see each other everyday, every time, every……..

“Hello hello ” I said but there was no response.. It seems her credit has exhausted

There must be a reason she applied for the job cos I know Brianna, she hated working as a maid but why did she just change like that?? There must be a reason..

I slid out of the gold heels on my feet and collapsed onto
the bed. That night I slept the best that I ever had in my life.

I woke up the next morning to find sunlight streaming down onto me. I yawned and stretched before sitting up in the bed. I shrieked when I found Lewis Taylor calmly drinking a cup of coffee, watching me from the bench directly across
from Dakota’s bed.

“What the hell are you doing here!” I exclaimed.

“No my dear, the question is what are you doing here.”

Lewis acknowledged. He set his coffee down and stood up.

“My dad owns the hotel so it was easy for me to get keys into this room. I wanted to personally deliver this to you.” He flung a folder at me. I opened it and found pictures of Dakota Gold in it. This was my first look at the famous French actress.

Like me she had brown hair but that was where the similarities ended. Dakota’s hair was lighter and much longer than mine and stopped just above her waist while
mine fell just past my shoulders. She also had paler skin that made her look like she was afraid of the sun while I had a tanned skin beach look going for me. Her eyes were blue while mine were light brown. All in all, we looked nothing alike.

“I’m not Dakota Gold.” I whispered.

Lewis let out a hearty laugh. “Oh I know you’re not. The problem is that Christian thinks you are. I may not get along with my brother all too well but I still care about him. Which is why I have a problem with the girl he likes tricking him
into believing she’s someone else.”

I hung my head in shame.

“Who are you anyways?” Lewis asked.

“My name is Nadia Moore.” I was apparently incapable of giving him complex sentences. My answers were short and stiff.

“So are you some kind of tabloid writer trying to make my brother look stupid for not googling a picture of the girl he thinks he’s dating? Or some crazy girl obsessed with him?”

I shook my head. “None of that, this whole thing is just one
big accident.”

So I explained everything that went on to Lewis. When I finished he had a shocked look on his face.

“So rather than just come clean, you’re willing to pretend to be someone you’re not until the real Dakota comes to the hotel?” Lewis questioned.

“I don’t have a choice. If I tell Christian the truth then he’s
going to fire me and even if he doesn’t, my supervisors will.
I need this job!”

Lewis gave me a calculating look. “Do you have feelings for my brother?”

I shook my head no immediately.

Lewis groaned. “He seems to really like you though. And trust me, Christian doesn’t normally develop feelings for girls.”

“I already turned him off of me. I told him I had a boyfriend.” I explained.

“That won’t stop Christian. He doesn’t like to lose and when he really wants something, he will do anything to get it.”

I ran a frustrated hand through my tangled hair. “What am I supposed to do?”

Lewis was quiet for a moment before responding. “I’ll help you. Now that I know your story I can see that you’re a good person. So whatever I need to do to keep this Dakota thing going, I’ll do it.”

I let out a sigh of relief. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” I exclaimed and squeezed Lewis into a hug.

“You’re welcome. “ Lewis disentangled himself from me and patted me on my head. “I have to go now but don’t worry, I will make sure that you’re taken care of.”

“I really appreciate it.” I said as I walked Lewis to the door.

I was shocked when I opened it to find Christian standing outside, his fist raised in the air ready to knock.

“What is the meaning of this?? ” He glared while looking at me

God!!! Has he found out?? Was he eavesdropping??
